About

We are a family owned and operated business with decades of experience in child care.

Brisbane City Child Care provides outstanding child care and education for working families with highly trained staff and the most advanced resources available. Together with our desire for innovation we will always provide a fresh approach for the faces of tomorrow. We do this to the highest quality standards of care for our children.

Delivered goals

We believe the home is the primary source for children to learn the fundamental attitudes, ideas and skills for life. Our centre builds on their home environment and provides wide ranging educational opportunities for young children to participate in new and rewarding experiences and group interaction with others. Attention is always given to their individual needs, abilities and interests.

Autonomy and relatedness

For every child to learn to get along with others, develop a healthy self-image and become a member of the group.

Competence

To create a variety of learning skills which encourage children to thrive within their environment and enjoy learning new things every day.

Self-esteem

For children to have a positive sense of self and take pride in their work and accomplishments. We’d like all kids to feel confident to take on whatever comes their way.

Unique history

Brisbane City Child Care was opened 2004 by Prime Minister John Howard and is a small local business, owned and operated by Chris and Margaret.

Margaret has her Bachelor in Education, Diploma of Primary Teaching, Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood. She has been running child care centres since 1989 and here at Brisbane City Child Care, she leads the large team of staff all of whom are passionate about children.

Chris, a civil engineer, has worked in child care development including government planning and advisory committees in all levels of child care for almost 30 years.

The idea of an inner city child care facility was the brain child of Chris and Margaret. From their experience in child care development they found 86 Astor Tce to be a building which could provide the ideal spaces including outdoor playgrounds and exceptional egress.

86 Astor Terrace was the first centre of this size in Brisbane CBD and is the sole occupant of the building.
